Course Description:
Advanced Placement Macroeconomics is a two-semester course designed for students who wish to take the A.P. Macroeconomics Exam for college credit. Macroeconomics promotes the understanding of aggregate economic activity; the utilization of resources within and across countries; and the critical evaluation of determinants of economic progress and economic decisions made by policymakers. The course teaches how to generate, interpret, label, and analyze graphs, charts, and data to describe and explain economic concepts.
AP Microeconomics
Course Description: Micro Economics is a full-year course of study in how individuals, firms, and organizations make economics decisions. The course begins with a general introduction to economics and the free enterprise system. Students then study demand and supply to determine how market prices are determined; how goods and services are distributed throughout the economy; and how an economy's mix of goods and services and factors of production are determined. During the course, the concepts of efficiency and equity are applied to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of economic decisions. The effects of government regulation and intervention are also studied. Timely discussions of economic problems and current events will be included.
