The engineering manager is expected to create a positive work environment to derive maximum output of his / her staff through various motivational techniques.

Effectively drive and lead the engineering team and transform it into a competitive advantage for the machine shop by raising its technical capabilities.
Motivate the engineers and technicians to search solutions beyond the current and standard solutions by introducing and practicing an innovative culture.
Re-organize and re-define job descriptions within the department to fully and effectively utilize the available talent.
Utilize all conceivable resources to upgrade the capabilities of the machine shop to the latest technologies available.
Develop a vision for the engineering department and allocate the necessary resources.
Justify capital expenditures and professionally prepare the required documentations.
Initiate projects and improvements to attain or exceed the department’s goals.
Coordinate the activities of the engineering department with all new product development managers to ensure seamless and successful launches of new products.
Provide adequate training and development for the engineering staff to ensure career path, retention, and succession management.
Engage cross-functional team members (i.e. operations, quality, purchasing, manufacturing engineering, marketing, sales) within new product development projects to ensure successful product transfer to manufacturing and market place
Actively engage NPD APQP requirements. Lead to launch activities through all phases of development working with the appropriate support departments.
Ensure that the receiving plant functions have all appropriate process documentation. The documentation may include documents such as Prototype Control Plan, DFMEA/PFMEA, Customer Specific Requirements, PPAP requirements, customer specifications, engineering requirements, gauging plans, MSA’s and other appropriate APQP documentation.
Provide prototype-manufacturing support by developing inspection and visual standards, analyzing and evaluating process capability, process control plans, out-of-control conditions, and process audits.
Lead the Problem Solving process using designated tools to ensure that customer issues related to NPD are investigated to determine root cause and close out the corrective actions using a cross functional engineering team.

Bachelor degree or above in mechanical engineering or related engineering major
At least 10 years manufacturing experience with CNC turning and machine center processes
Ability to train and coach employees one-on-one and/or teams in technical engineering disciplines
Hands on machining problem solving and trouble shooting.
Ability to scale level of involvement from full delegation to hands-on participation when required by the project or business
Quality experience with a working knowledge of blueprint reading, statistical methods, problem solving, international quality standards
Six Sigma Certified or have completed Six Sigma Green Belt Projects preferred
Experience in Kaizen\continual improvement in manufacturing a must
Mature minded to drive and lead the cross function team members when project\business need
Good leadership and management skills
Good communication and coordination skills
Good English including presentation skills
Fluent in Mandarin is a must
