Key Responsibilities and Duties
1. Regular teaching requirements for two 16-week semesters
a. Teach Spoken English to around 60-90 students in 4-6 class sections of around15 students each. Goals for this instruction are to improve students’ spoken English proficiency in their academic studies and to achieve an IELTS score of 6.0 or above.

b. Teach Written English to the same 60-90 students in 2-3 class sections of around 30 students each. Goals for this instruction are to improve students’ written English proficiency in their academic studies and to achieve an IELTS score of 6.0 or above.

c. Office Hours are required weekly and instructors must be available on campus 4-6 classroom hours every week for the purpose of offering tutorials in both spoken and written English.

d. Teach Advanced Courses to second year students.
2.Other activities relevant to regular teaching requirements:
a. Create a syllabus, reading list and course requirements for distribution to students on the first day of class and plan lessons to meet learning outcomes.
b. Plan regular formative assessments, prepare and mark test papers, give oral tests and submit final grades, some extra weekend work will be involved in this regard.
c. Attend staff meetings and other duties as assigned, including giving some additional lectures concerning western cultures, curriculum development and curriculum review and participate in professional development activities as scheduled.
Note: We normally have 16 weeks of teaching in each semester, but another 2 weeks is needed for each semester to prepare the beginning of the semester and mark test papers, give oral tests and submit final grades at the end of the semester.
