Description:
Market Data Control (MDC) is a greenfield project that facilitates control processes to satisfy a regulatory requirement. The technology base has been established and is currently supporting 2 products globally in the production environment. The goal is to grow to 4 products and the technology needs to be fine-tuned in the process.
Working within a team of highly skilled technology and business experts you will have the opportunity to employ your technical skills to influence the design decisions to make MDC a scalable system with good supportability as well as learn about the Fixed Income business.
Qualifications:
Minimum 7 years’ experience in software design and development in complex real time systems
Minimum 2 years’ experience in successfully leading scrum team of upto 10 developers, QAs and BAs to deliver high quality software.
Skilled in analyzing, debugging and tuning large complex SQLs.
Extensive knowledge of Java, specifically the language fundamentals as well as the Hibernate.
Excellent problem analysis and innovation skills
Knowledge of UNIX fundamentals and scripting. For example Perl, bash, sed, awk, cron etc.
Ability to use a range of Software Development tools, for instance; Eclipse, Maven, Team-city, Toad, Excel and Git.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Excellent team collaboration skills, including the ability to work effectively with business user within global multicultural team environment
Degree in a Computer Science related discipline or equivalent
Desirable:
Experience of code reviews and continuous integration
Knowledge of QlikView would be a big plus
Interest in the development process and how to improve it at the team and department level.
Experience within Fixed Income and Foreign Exchange business of an Investment Bank
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the delivery of key software components using Java and PL/SQL.
Liase with the technical members to evaluate proposed solutions and suggest alternatives.
Revisit parts of the system to improve efficiency of the prototype.
Work within a fast paced environment where everybody is able to work on every component.
Mentor junior team members.
