Thomas is 7 years-old and Keith is 4 with fairly basic English skills. You are supposed to come to their place 2 hours a week on regular basis preferably on weekend, play and talk with them in a casual manner. You’re expected to be their English speaking friend rather than a teacher.
You’re English native, enjoying the time with kids, patience and polite because what you’re going to do in front of them would influence their behavior.
As a friend of them, you can play TV games, outdoor sports and any kind of activities you can think of and appropriate for their age with them.
Their place is in New Jiangwan town of Yang Pu district, which is spacious and newly renovated. You could have free coffee, XBox and especially high-speed network can access Facebook or twitter (don’t ask me how to setup.) so that you could contact with your friends in your hometown yet I hope this won’t distract you from kids. In addition, it's highly welcomed if you don't mind dining with us.
Stephanie (my wife) and I (Mars) speak English in a reasonable level, and Stephanie speaks Spanish very well. Both of us are working for WOFE company in Shanghai as senior level. However, we found it was quite hard to setup the English environment with children because they know we speak Chinese. We’re living with Stephanie’s parent and they don’t speak a word of English. We have a Labrador dog Kaka, but he is a bit old and barely move.
