You’ll take an active part in the process of planning and structuring EnjoyShanghai’s content. Do the footwork involved in writing about the city, doing research, conducting interviews and exploring new ways to enjoy Shanghai.

Requirements
- Previous writing experience. Provide a portfolio. Personal blog, past published articles, studying or studied translation, journalism or English, a 400 word review of your local noodle shop. We’re not expecting Pulitzer Prize material here, just someone who has a passion for writing and isn’t afraid to sit down at a keyboard.
- Demonstrable interest or knowledge about Shanghai. You a huge fan of arcades? Do you know the best cat cafes? Do you know every single abandoned 1930s-era mansion in the Old City? Do you know all the street sweepers on Changle Road by name? No? Do you aspire to having that kind of knowledge? Great.
- Social Media experience. Know how to navigate the Minoan Maze that is the WeChat backend? Solid. Know how to format a WeChat post to look fancy? Outstanding. Know how to work Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, read analytics reports? Superlative. You’ll be expected to
- Photography/Videography Skills a definite plus. Can you shoot an interview on a DSLR?
- Image/Video/Audio Editing also a bonus. Adobe Suite preferable, but other software also okay.
- Excellent English is a given. You’re going to be writing a lot in English so it’s best if you feel comfortable with it.
- Bilingual candidates (Chinese and English) is a strong advantage.
