SPOOM is seeking a full-time Junior Designer for outerwear.
The Junior Designer will be responsible for executing the process from technical drawings to the final samples.
He/she will be involved in the conceptualizing, researching, developing and creation of designs for the Spoom outerwear brand as well as several private label collections for other brands.
He/She will alsonbe responsible for checking and evaluating garments from first sample to final approved fit sample. A keen interest in fashion and an eye for design and aesthetics are needed to qualify for this job.
Responsibilities
Creating technical drawings from first concept to final approved design
Analyze and evaluate garments according to the design and technical specs
Make sure that products are developed within manufacturer capabilities and cost specifications
Research of upcoming trends
Attend garment fittings, take detailed notes of changes needed
Coordination of fit issues and changes between the design team, production team and private label clients
Organizing & styling of both product and model shoots
Requirements
Bachelor degree in Fashion, Design or related field
1 year or more working experience in the fashion industry is preferred
Good skills with Photoshop, Illustrator, CAD and Microsoft Office programs
A knowledge in pattern making is a plus
Knowledge of different fabric qualities
Knowledge in basic graphic design and patterns for fabrics is needed
Good written and communication skills in both English and Chinese
Keen interest in fashion and an eye for design and aesthetics
