An exciting opportunity is available for the role of a Graphic Designer at MetsaBoard Shanghai, based in People’s Square.
Forming part of a global award-winning design team and reporting to the Design & Innovation Director, this role will require the successful candidate to be involved mainly in creative graphic design for paperboard packaging serving various markets such as Electronics, Food & Beverage, Cosmetics and Luxury products for the company's offices based in Europe, America and Asia.
The ideal candidate will be also responsible for brand strategy and development, market insights, and developing story-telling presentations.
Responsibilities
Conceptualize, plan, design, and produce a wide range of creative graphics and/or illustrative material, primarily for paperboard packaging, that fits within the client's guidelines and agreed budget from concept through final production
Work closely with the design team to contribute to brainstorming sessions, brand and market research while supporting the graphic team to maintain brand integrity within the packaging structure
Works with sales team to develop innovative packaging designs to secure new business
Develops Brand Strategy and communicates unique design concepts for customer brands, displaying a strong awareness of commercial viability
Participates in the development of story-telling presentations
Marketing research, gather/analyze production, competitor and sales information
Provide PR, event and other marketing related support
Have ability to be flexible and to follow directions assigned by line manager
Requirements
Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in design agency or creative services dept. with experience of designing graphic design on packaging for food, electronics, cosmetics or luxury markets
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field required
Excellent sense of page layout, typography, color and composition
Possess strong attention to detail and consistently produce high quality results
Excellent inter-departmental communication skills
Good knowledge of packaging manufacturing/production lines and their relation to manufacturing feasibility
Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
Must be self-motivated, good communicator and produce results independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
Be a team worker who is diligent, proactive and able to complete assignments with tight deadlines and great attention to detail
Able to multi-task on a daily basis and work in a fast-paced multinational environment
Passion for Packaging and Graphic Design, Innovation and Trends
Good English language abilities (written and verbal)
