We are conveniently located within the Shanghai Centre in Jing’an district, adjacent to the Portman Ritz-Carlton hotel. Address: 1376 Nanjing West Road near Xikang Road.
The toddler class consists of 8 students and has 2 main teachers (English and Chinese speaking). Students are primarily children of Shanghai Centre residents, with a range of different nationalities and language abilities.
The music class we would like to offer will be 1 day per week for approximately 30min. Time slot can be negotiated but preferably will be a 1/2 hour slot between 10:45-11:30am.
Ideal candidates should have:
Some level of formal music training
Ability to play at least 1 instrument that can be carried to the classroom (e.g. guitar, violin, flute)
Strong singing voice
Able to engage young children and hold their attention for the duration of a class (~30min)
Fun, energetic personality
Caring, positive attitude
Preferred but not required:
University degree in music
Previous teaching experience
Bi-lingual in English and Mandarin, or with at least some conversational Mandarin skills
