Working hours are Tuesday to Saturday, a total of 33.5 hours with at least 18 hours set aside for instruction. Any extra working hours over 40 will be paid overtime. The rest will be office hours. Tuesday to Friday the schedule will be 3-10, with either 2-4 hour-long classes taught from 6-10. On Saturday the teachers are expected to work 1-6:30.
The classes are small (most averaging fewer than 10 students) and the students are very well behaved. Much of the teacher’s responsibility will be administering practice tests and giving students advice on how to improve their speaking and writing skills.
The best candidate has at least 5 years teaching experience and a TOEFL degree; special consideration will be given to teachers with extensive experience teaching the TOEFL test and those with a degree in the humanities or social sciences.
Two weeks of paid vacation will be given, one week during the summer and one during the winter, and the dates are flexible. More vacation time is possible but it will not be paid.
