| we are looking for an Accounting Manager to join the Finance and Accounting team...we are looking for an Accounting Manager to join the Finance and Accounting team. This position will manage the Accounting team, which consists of four full time accountants & consultants who cover all areas of accounting including general ledger, revenue, A/R, A/P, stock administration, and payroll. This team has a great synergy and is well cross-trained. The team also strives to implement the latest technologies to promote an automated, efficient and, when possible, paperless office.
Responsibilities
Develop and manage accounting staff
Maintain the general ledger system
Assist with coordinating and planning audits and tax preparations with our public accounting firm, including the compilation and preparation of supporting schedules, work papers, and financial reports related to areas of responsibility
Ensure the timely and accurate compilation of monthly, quarterly & year-end accounting data
Support VP Finance in establishing and monitoring proper accounting policies and procedures
Design operational procedures and workflow processes that meet audit standards and improve efficiency
Knowledge and understanding of internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
Research authoritative literature for proper treatment of accounting issues
Prepare monthly internal financial statements and assist in preparing the management discussion/analysis
Oversee stock administration and equity accounting
Provide training to new and existing staff as needed
