The Media Researcher will work closely with the Asia Operations Manager and the China Media Team to provide relevant and timely marketplace intelligence for the global investment community.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive industry contacts and demonstrate the ability to develop new relationships with industry contacts who can speak to strategic trends in the media advertising industry with an emphasis on online advertising, media strategy, mobile internet, and E-commerce.
Applicants must be able to speak, interview, write and read Chinese with a high level of fluency. The Media Researcher reports to the Asia Operations Manager.
Requirements
Experience working in or reporting on the media advertising industry with an emphasis on online advertising, media strategy and e-commerce
Strong TMT background with knowledge of internet and mobile internet, O2O, e-commerce etc., TMT analytics experience is preferable
Ideal candidate has an established network of sources of media buyers or e-commerce operation agencies
Cold calling skills and ability to develop new sources on any vertical internet media research, such as travel agency, auto media, meal review/delivery media, O2O business, etc.
Strong interviewing skills are a must, English writing and critical thinking skills are preferable
Flexibility and ability to work independently, ability to work from home is required
Ability to handle workload of 1-2 projects per month (5-8 source interviews per project)
A native Chinese born speaker and citizen who is based in China, preferably Shanghai or Shenzhen
Understanding of MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook
