• Do sufficient background reading so that you may answer the students' questions carefully
• Write a detailed lesson plan for each class and turn it in a day before to the teachers’ supervisor.
• Direct the classes.
• Be punctual.
• Communicate with the TA or the teachers’ supervisor when encountering any difficulty.
• Check the students’ homework: this includes both written homework, which is usually done half an hour before class and recordings which the students do at home. The purpose of the latter is correcting their pronunciation.
• Write progress and feedback reports after each test.
• The test grading is done by the TA with the exception of the writing section, which the foreign teacher will grade.
• Give demo classes: the school has a screening system and to make sure our students can deal with the English level of our program the final step is a demo class with a foreign teacher, in order to assess the student’s English proficiency. When the demo class ends (it should last about 20 minutes) the foreign teacher should give his/her input in writing in regard to the student’s level and what course should the student attend ( the course consultant will provide the foreign teacher with the assessment form).
