Who are we looking for?
An ideal candidate will be a native-level speaker of English and have the following;
An academic qualification at UK graduate level in English or similarly related areas (Essential). A relevant postgraduate qualification such as TESOL is highly desirable.
A minimum of five years of teaching experience and three years of relevant management experience is essential. Management experience should ideally relate to the departmental team leadership, resources development, development of the curriculum and assessments and the training/examining for standardised tests such as IELTS/TOEFL. The experience should relate to the delivery of a Western-style syllabus such as IGCSE ESL using Western conventions and methodologies.
IELTS/TOEFL training experience is desirable.
A recognised teaching qualification in English or a recognised TEFLQ (Trinity or Delta) is highly desirable.
The ability to contribute to integrated teaching across the curriculum (Essential).
An understanding of UK/Western higher education and the needs and requirements of international students (Essential).
Experience of academic assessment and standards and of quality assurance procedures (Desirable).
Experience of living and working in China, preferably in education sector (Desirable).
Age Limit: 60 years
