ELIGIBILITY:
Bachelor's Degree and native English ability (US/UK/Australia/South Africa/some European countries) for FULL-TIME position.
Native English ability for PART-TIME student positions.
Some tutoring or teaching experience desired but not essential. TEFL/TESOL/CELTA if possible.
Must have up-to-date passport and passport photos. When applicable, should also provide copy or scan of degree and/or certifications.
No Mandarin Chinese knowledge necessary, only a cooperative and patient attitude.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
FULL-TIME teaching position is 30 hours per week, which includes 22 teaching hours and 8 hours of office work such as lesson planning, activities, meetings, trainings, and demo classes. The full-time teaching contract is for one year.
PART-TIME position is for 5-25 hours per week. The part-time teaching contract can be negotiated for less than one year. Students may negotiate for a 5- or 6-month contract if they would like to utilize this opportunity as a "study abroad" option.
Classes are one-on-one or one-on-two. All are private classes.
Most classes are for English language instruction, but i2 also has French, Spanish, mathematics, science, TOEFL, IELTS, SAT, ACT, GRE, music, dance, and art courses. Teachers may be able to teach these other courses depending on experience and student availability.
BENEFITS:
For PART-TIME student teachers, pay is 150RMB per hour or 6000RMB per month. No housing allowance is provided but i2 helps with the student visa process and finding an apartment or dorm. Bonuses, promotion opportunities, and contract completion bonus are provided monthly or after end of contract.
For FULL-TIME teachers, starting pay is 11000RMB with housing allowance and promotion opportunities. 9000RMB flight allowance at the end of the contract. Full-time teachers also receive two weeks paid vacation time and paid national holidays (such as Chinese New Year, Mid-Autumn Festival, and National Day).
i2 will help provide and pay for a student visa or Z Visa (working visa), as well as a luggage allowance and finding housing. Airport pick-up and drop-off is also provided.
