True Run currently publishes three magazines in print and online – the Beijinger, beijingkids and JingKids (Beijing and Shanghai). We are now looking for a full-time Copy Editor & Social Media Manager to join the team.
Job Purpose:
The Copy Editor & Social Media Manager is responsible for the copy-editing, proofreading, and corrections processes of products as well as maintenance and coverage of all social media streams (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, WeChat, Weibo) and works to optimize growth and interaction from readers via shares, likes, and comments.
He/She brings a methodical, systems-based approach to ensuring that any written matter published by the company is clear, correct, concise, complete, and consistent.
As well as repost content via the brand’s streams in an original and enticing way so as to increase click-thrus, the Social Media Manager portion of the job involves seeking out additional content that is relevant to the brands and Beijing (videos, photos, shared content from similar news outlets that do not directly clash with our content). They should also seek to grow the brand by creating connections with KOLs, leaders in the field, and likeminded people and brands via adding of streams, forwarding of content, and creating dialogue.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with major in English, journalism or related fields
- At least two years of relevant work experience
- At least one year of writing/editing experience
- At least one year of social media management experience
- Fluent English communication skills
- Computer savvy
- Familiar with pagination and design software
- Creative
- Detail-oriented
- Deadline-driven
- Excellent writing skills
- Meticulous proofreading skills
- Strong fact-checking skills
Bonus points if you have the following:
- Chinese language skills
- Previous media experience (online media more bonus points)
- Previous managerial/supervisory experience
- Has lived in Beijing for at least a year
