CSOFT’s Global Communications Department is looking for talented writers to work on projects for major Chinese technology companies.
The ideal candidate must be a native English speaker who is proficient in Mandarin Chinese, comfortable with explaining complex scientific/technological concepts in simple language, and ready to take on a wide variety of deadline-driven projects. This position will require simultaneous work on different types of documentation for different products, so organization and versatility are a must.
Primary Responsibilities:
-Proofreading legacy content for clarity and usability
-Developing and editing content for:
• User Guides
• Installation Manuals
• Marketing Materials
• Web or Mobile Interfaces
• Video Game Content
• Subtitles
-Frequent communication with a diverse group of stakeholders (in both English and Chinese)
Qualifications and Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communication or relevant experience
• Native English speaker, with a strong grasp of grammar and controlled language
• A strong writing portfolio (*Please include 2 writing samples with your application*)
• Ability to strictly abide by style guides and write for a specific audience
• Able to work independently and under pressure
• "Can-do" approach and flexible attitude
• Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office
Preferred Skills:
• 1-2 years of writing or communications experience (in-house or agency are both okay)
• Business proficient Chinese reading and speaking skills
• Rudimentary translation experience
• Graphic design skills
• Strong understanding of any of the following fields:
- IT
- Telecommunications
- Gaming
- E-commerce
- Interface Design
This position may occasionally require travel within mainland China.
