Our two main projects are a small private school in Beijing and an innovative education programme currently operating in twenty government schools. We are growing quickly and this includes the development of new projects including summer courses in the UK, a mentorship programme between Cambridge University and low-income Chinese students, a theatre course, a book on creativity and a literary journal for high school students.
TSL Art Director
The Art Director is instrumental in growing the TSL creative department delivering powerful creative solutions. The Art Director will conceptualize, develop and understand design strategy in an array of projects across the business from print to digital design with particular focus on editorial and branding design pojects.
The Art Director will lead and manage a network of collaborators, taking charge of the core decisions in terms of design, schedules and tasks throughout the project.
Creative Excellence
• Conceptual exploration, including drawing, sketching, research, ideation and design
• Works with Organisation Founder Director of Studies/Director of Flourish/Senior Consultant to establish directions and design solutions; ensures implementation of directions from concept through to delivery of BE
• Able to put forward a point of view not just on their own work but the work of others
• Participates in meetings and critiques; explains and substantiates existing or potential design direction
• Proven ability to be handle multiple projects/tasks at one time
Required Experience
• BFA in Graphic Design, Visual Studies or other design-related field or relevant design qualification
• Well skilled in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Adobe Acrobat)
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages, specifically PowerPoint
• We would like to start a publishing company in the future. Knowing the industry, and the process from concept to distribution would be a major advantage
Duties and Responsibilities
• Work as a part of a multi-disciplinary team working both independently and with other members of the organisation to deliver a meaningful brand experience
• Execute projects from concept to production from the small to the large; low priority to high priority; internally and externally facing; short-term to long-term focused
• Address business objectives with creativity that connects with real people
• Stay on top of the latest trends in design
• Help maintain guidelines for brand best practices
• Understand local aesthetics and culture, e.g. type, colour issues, symbols etc.
