Design Environments, part of the international company Cooks Global Foods (Esquires Coffee), is a specialist interior/fitout retail design company. With our head office in Auckland NZ, we are currently establishing our China design team, working under the direction of the NZ manager, designing innovative Esquires Coffee Houses across China.

We are seeking a multi-talented enthusiastic Retail Designer with at least three to six years’ experience in the commercial retail interiors sector to join our global team.
To be considered for this position we will require you to have the following skills, experience plus relevant qualifications:
• Strong interior design ability with excellent colour sense, awareness and an interest in regional and international design trends
• Demonstrated knowledge and application of all interior services and planning
• Experience & knowledge of sustainable building practices
• Brief taking and site measuring
• Strong Autocad skills and ability to produce full construction plans / documentation
• Detailed cabinetry drawings
• 3D interior visualisation, fly/walk through (3D Studio Max)
• Presentation skills of both platforms - Mac and Windows (Adobe, Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup, Freehand use)
• Knowledge of HTML code for building and management of website etc.
You will have the ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to develop specific fixture finishes and concepts in line with brand requirements, together with:
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively remotely with clients with a proven ability to take responsibility for a geographical area
• Ability to communicate effectively with shopfitters and project managers directly
• Proven capability to select and procure appropriate materials & furniture including flooring, lighting and wall finishes
• Resilience with a persuasive, friendly and confident personality
You must be Bi-lingual - Fluent English and Chinese communication skills & have an Interior Design / Architectural degree from a recognised tertiary institution
