**This position requires a two-hour virtual editorial judgment assessment.**
We currently have a great opportunity for a newsroom Copy Editor to edit content for CCTV News, the English language program of China Central Television in Beijing. Content to be copy edited will include breaking news scripts, written by both domestic reporters and international correspondents.
For this role, we are searching not only for a good editor and writer, but someone who is organized, a team player and a multi-tasker. Candidates are required to have an extensive knowledge of the network TV news writing style that will be useful in maintaining and updating an internal style guide to strengthen consistency and standards. This role will ensure that all copy is urgent, concise, accurate and written with correct spelling, grammar and punctuation.
You should be assertive enough to provide constructive criticism to junior- and senior-level producers as well as recognize and return unacceptable copy to producers to revise when necessary.
Candidates must have a minimum of two years of experience. They should have a strong editorial voice, point of view, and ability to spot trends, as well as a working knowledge of the East Asia political landscape on the web and in social media.
