Successful candidate will:
- Edit and develop copy, pitch stories and engage with in-house editors
- Assist with development and operations of NewsChina’s app, website and social media accounts
- Help determine future editorial direction
All candidates must have:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related discipline (English, Chinese or journalism graduates preferred)
- Extensive experience working in high-end editorial, ideally in both China and abroad
- Excellent and comprehensive knowledge of written American and British English
- Strong work ethic with an ability to work remotely with maximum efficiency
- Keen interest in and knowledge of Chinese politics, economics, culture and society
- Enthusiasm for supporting and nurturing local journalists, encouraging them to find and develop their own independent voices
- Native English fluency
Spoken and written Mandarin a distinct advantage.
