Your responsibilities in the morning include leading the children in their morning reading sessions and then their morning activity, taking the kids out to play and story time. In the afternoon you will be leading one activity and then assisting with another.
The morning reading session lasts about 20 minutes and in that time you will be teaching them songs from our song books.
The activity lasts for about 30-40 minutes depending on what you are doing. The activity will usually be broken into two parts. The first half of the activity is spent introducing and revising the English you are using for the month and then the second half is spent making or doing something that uses that vocabulary. You can choose what you would like to do for the second half of the lesson – most of our teachers do crafts, cooking, games, experiments and similar.
There are two activities in the afternoon. Your responsibility is to lead the first activity and then to assist with the second. You also have Chinese assistant teachers in your class to help out with all activities.
The afternoon activities that you need to lead are art, spelling and maths. The activities you will assist with are tennis, KungFu and dance.
You must be a native speaker we currently can only accept applicants from the UK, US, NZ, SA, Australia or Canada.
The details are as follows:
Monday to Friday 8:00 to 5:00.
Lunch from 11:30 until 2:00.
Salary from 15000 to 17000 (before tax) depending upon experience
All Chinese holidays paid
