Objective of This Test:
To know the Chinese ability of Chinese learners whose native official language is English and to understand the various structure and connectivity of language brain area of different people who have different Chinese level. This project is sponsored by Chinese Academy of Sciences and National Natural Science Foundation of China.
Test Procedure:
(1) Pretest: Do some paper-based tests, such as characters recognition, reading fluency test etc, which last for about ten minutes.
(2) Do the main task---lexical decision. You should decide whether the character on the computer screen is a real word or a pseudoword which resembles a real word but doesn’t exist. While you are doing this cognitive task, you are lying in the functional magnetic resonance imaging scanner which is used to collecting the information of your brain activity. fMRI scanning is very safe. This task takes about 1hour and 10 minutes.
Requirement of the Volunteer:
(1) First language should be English or the official language is English.
(2) Chinese level is medium or high. HSK level 3-6.
