Department: K-12 Curriculum Development Department
Position Title: K-12 Curriculum Proofreader
Job Description：The K-12 Curriculum Department is one of 51Talk’s key departments. It is responsible for the content of 51Talk’s Junior English classes, as well as designing and creating lesson materials for younger learners. The K-12 Curriculum Department also researches, develops, and compiles a complete and coherent set of educational products for our clients.The K-12 Curriculum Development Department is looking for a new and vibrant colleague to join their team. Your main job will be to assist the current team in proofreading all of the materials that have been created, as well as to give valued input in meetings, to improve the content of the K-12 curriculum.
Responsibilities：
1. Participate in the development of a core curriculum framework for K-12 reading, writing, and science courses;
2. Proofread the body of supplementary course materials based on the curriculum framework, including researching, developing, and editing educational products (both teachers’ and students’ materials);
3. Proofread every step of the educational product development, including giving suggestions on how to revise materials based on your own expertise;
4. Design and participate in teacher training sessions.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. One British or one American national needed; interested in the field of education with excellent writing skills and command of grammar and language mechanics.
2. A bachelor’s degree awarded by an accredited university and better major in English.
3. Experience with English language learners;
4. Familiar with American educational standards and teaching practices;
Preferred:
6. A master’s degree or above in education or an education-related field from a highly-ranked university;
7. Three or more years of related editing experience.
8. Experience in the development of curricula and/or writing and editing educational materials;
9. Familiar with Adobe InDesign software.
