The job will involve correcting English content that was originally written by a non-native English speaker. The ideal candidate must have a strong writing portfolio as he/she will correct typos, grammar, idioms and flow. This position will require simultaneous work on different types of documentation for different products, so organization, versatility, and ability to meet deadlines are a must.
If you choose to join us, you will be responsible for:
• Proofreading old content for clarity, usability, and readability
• Developing content for a wide variety of technical communication, including user guides, quick start manuals, and installation manuals
• Conducting market and product research
We require in candidates:
• Native English speaker, with a strong grasp of grammar and controlled language
• A Bachelor’s degree (preferably in English, Journalism, Technical communication, or related field)
• A strong writing portfolio (*Please include with your application!*)
• Able to work independently and under pressure
• Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
• Ability to strictly abide by style guides and write for a specific audience
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office
We prefer candidates with:
• 1-2 years of technical writing experience (in-house or agency are both okay)
• Intermediate Chinese speaking and reading skills
• Experience using Adobe InDesign
• Strong understanding of IT, Telecom, and/or Consumer Appliance industries
• A willingness to travel in China
