*Please note this position is specifically designed for a co-production project between BON and international news wires including AP and AFP.

Blue Ocean Network is looking to cooperate with a full-time in-house/freelance Video Producer to work on a wide variety of China content for international news wire services. The primary production focus is on business, technology, travel, art and fashion, health and lifestyle in China.

Key responsibilities will include:
-Producing insightful, sharable, innovative China content in news feature format to be watched by tens of millions of western viewers, both online, on TV, and in the real world via international news wire services.
-You are expected to complete the production process independently by leading and collaborating with a small production team (three people at most) to produce both high and low budget video content according to briefs delivered by the production director. This will mean working hand-in-hand with our news wire partners to conceptualize, develop, and produce video features in accordance with pre-set trending topics.
-Working for a co-production project with the world-leading news agencies, you need to be equipped with a sharp sense of news value (precisely "soft news") and are able to develop a holistic strategy for gathering brilliant ideas, offering insightful perspective and disseminating video content across multiple platforms with the assistance of various news agencies, freelancers, and crowdsourced online platforms.

Considerable work experience in TV/video production (or at least 3-10 years work experience in a TV/video production or broadcasting institution) is required. Previous experience working with AP, Reuters or AFP is a huge plus.

We’re looking for someone who is very innovative and experienced with “hands on” work – comfortable both producing and thinking on a very high/strategic level, but who can also shoot pieces when given the proper support. Experience with editing and post-production workflows is a must.

The Video Producer will report to the Video Agency Director of the Beijing Office. The producer shall preferably be based in Beijing, potentially with occasional business travel expected for video production work.

The position is open only to native-English speaking professionals and because the content generated will be almost entirely China-related, written and spoken (Mandarin) Chinese is a big advantage.

In your response, please include:
-Your resumé/C.V.
-A cover letter explaining why you’re the best candidate for the position.
-Links to previous video work including online metrics, as well a description of your specific role in the production.
-Salary will be competitive for the market and based on the candidate’s production capacity.
