The Cellar Door is a small hutong bar in Gulou, known and loved for its range of bottled beers, its distinctive music playlists and its friendly crowd of regulars. Both vacancies offer regular part-time work (1 or 2 nights per week). If you like bar work then it's a great job to have. Here's why:
-- Only a single bartender is required on any given night: you'd be responsible for opening, running and closing the place on your own, allowing you to gain good experience and to just get on with things without a boss breathing down your neck
-- Life behind the bar is good: the place and the people make for a good atmosphere and the working pace is pretty relaxed
-- The money's better than for other Beijing bar jobs: the bartender gets a fair share of the nightly takings (which is an especially good deal during the summer months), with a set minimum as insurance against slow business
