Position: Consultant – Content Developer
Reports to: Senior Manager: Marketing
Work location: Beijing, People’s Republic of China
Responsibilities
• Identify important trends and issues surrounding key markets (China/Asia, Africa, Australia, Latin America, and other emerging markets) and industries (mining, resources, industrial, engineering, supply chain, and FMCG, among others)
• Conduct research to obtain verifiable, accurate and relevant information, utilizing a wide array of sources
• Create interesting, relevant and fresh content on a fairly wide range of topics (with focus on China, key markets and industries as indicated above), according to the company’s prescribed editorial style and guidelines, that will be used in the company’s publications (magazine, blog, etc.), other collaterals (print and online), and media/partner/client journals
• Copyedit articles, marketing collaterals and other content
• Manage or support in managing the day-to-day operations of the company’s publications, including supervising the design aspects of the publications and ensuring timely delivery and finalisation (print and online)
• Provide continuous creative leadership and improvement for updating and improving company publications and collaterals
• Maintain and improve quality standards across the board
• Maintain deep awareness of company identity and ensure this is reflected in all company publications and collaterals
Requirements
• Ability to create solid, professional content, with the resources at hand and within the designated time limitations
• Impeccable English language skills; Chinese language skills an advantage
• A creative thinker and good at analysis and constructing sound arguments
• Self-starter, detail-oriented, resourceful, problem-solver, with the ability to multi-task
• Thorough understanding of both Chinese and foreign perspective on business and international relations
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, economics, or related fields (post-graduate qualification an advantage)
