Social Studies is defined as a course of instruction that deals with human relationships and the way society works. This type of education includes the study of Literature, History and Geography, Arts, Civics, and Cultural Studies. Our goal is to offer the core social studies curriculum that is required for high school level Humanities and college level Liberal Arts education. Throughout interdisciplinary courses, Humanities explores a wide array of fields that prepare students to become well-rounded individuals and sophisticated, responsible world citizens.
Lone Star Academy is seeking talented teachers for our intensive 2-3 week summer program starting on July 18th - July 30th for Summer I and August 8th- August 20th for Summer II. Teachers will be teaching a group of 6 to 8 students and provide students with a core understanding of the subject area they are teaching. Summer courses include Debate, Film studies, Fundamentals of English as a second Language, Writing courses, Cultural Studies, and more. By proving small classes, teachers will have the freedom get to know the students better and tailor instruction accordingly.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an American institution
Fluent English skills, excellent reading, writing, and public speaking skills
Previous teaching experience in China
Flexibility and adaptability in the classroom
Critical Thinking and Analyzing skills
Creative and willing to originate their own curriculum
Ability to share ideas and work well with others
Eager to learn and grow as a teacher
